Closest I can get you is serial numbers for a .32 Double Action 4th Model ran from 43406 in 1883 to 282999 in 1909.

Serial number 70000 was in 1960 and 108087 was in 1965 so yours would fall in 1964/65.

Thanks Jim. This service you provide to total strangers is a remarkable act of generosity.
I'm getting up there in age and my wife is suggesting that I should reduce my gun collection. I've shot the 34-1 a lot over the last 45 years and it's been one of my favorites. It'll be hard to part with it.
Thanks again
Ernie

SN’s ran from 6D10001 to 7D10000 that year.

I don’t have the most current version of the Book. Mine covers up to 2004 and yours is after that. S&W customer service will give you the DOB over the phone for free.

If it is a modern swing out cylinder model then it would be a .32 Hand Ejector Model of 1903, 5th Change. Serial numbers ran from 102501 in 1910 to 263000 in 1917.
If it is a older break top (barrel tips down to load/unload) then I’ll need more info.

BTW, CTG stands for cartridge.

Jim

Okay.
If it's a double action then it would be a .32 Double Action 4th Model. Serial numbers ran from 43406 in 1883 to 282999 in 1909.
The other version is the Safety Hammerless, but they only ran to serial number 242981.

Year and Value S&W 19 4”

Looking at 19-4 4” 19 appears to be 90% condition but no box or anything else. I have seen old threads of value but seem to be going up. They are asking $899. What do you think of price and the serial # is 56k1xx. What year would this make it? Thanks for any help
