The Model 19 started in 1957. By 1959 it was replaced by the 19-1.

According to The Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson, K358xxx dates to 1959.

Curious Serial #

I have a 642-1,no lock with Uncle Mikes boot grips and the serial # starts with DCR9xxx. It is not listed in the 4th edition of the Standard Catalog for S&W.
No box so can't refer to that.

I know they made a special run of 3000 in 2008 with no lock but prefixes were DCM. Any idea what year this is? Thanks!!

Serial number dates it around 1957. Value as pictured, gun only, I’d guess about $600.

ZX10 not sure what you want to know. It's a S&W Model 586 just as you described. Made around 1992.

Trying to get a better idea of a DOB for my 34-1 Kit gun than just ' a year or three before I got married' (parte uno).

Serial number 114895

In the Brauer Bros H 13 holster:

In the Bucheimer B4 Perfect Fit holster:

Serial numbers ran from 108000 in 1965 to 135000 in 1969. So, ~1966.
