Looking for .313 & .314 Cast Bullets

While I have managed to get some nice groups with my 1943 BSA Enfield and .312 Hornady's, my two other Enfields just won't perform better than 4" groups at 50 yards. I suspect that the bore diameter is the problem.

Does anyone have a source for .313 & .314 diameter cast bullets. I thought about casting my own but I just don't have the time nor am I willing to put in the monetary investment.

Any leads would be appreciated!

Thanks for the link! FMJ .312 Hornady's run $20 per hundred, so even though Bear Tooth's is expensive for lead, it is cheaper than FMJ and it is a custom bullet.

Being the bullets are gas checked does add to the price, but has it's advantage also.

What you need to do is befriend a boolit caster that has the Lyman 314299 mould and have them sized .313 or .314 with Hornady gaschecks.
Check out www.castboolits/gunloads.com. CB.

Don't you want to find out if that's the case before you buy larger diameter bullets? Here's a tutorial for slugging a Mosin-Nagant. That would be my first step. I don't know about the Enfields, but I know the Mosin-Nagants can vary from .308 (Finnish) to .311-.314 (Russian).

If your Enfield measures .314 then you could go as much as a .315 to .316 diameter cast bullet if you wanted.

Just a thought.

Crowbeaner has the right idea, but first you have to find someone that has a Lyman 314299 that actually WILL cast bullets at .314" The last 2 I've had did .310" and .312" respectively. The first wnet back to Grafs, the second is on it's way back to Lyman. I had better luck using the Lee C185 bullet and "Beagleing" it to get .314.
