Polishing question

Will Mothers Mag Polish harm bluing?

It's always a good idea to test any chemical on any finish before actually using it.
Try a little someplace on the gun where it won't show or matter.

I'd expect Mother's Mag Polish to go right through bluing, in short order.
You can't change the surface finish - "polish-out scratches" - on a blued gun, so all you would do is remove the extremely thin layer of bluing.

Sounds like an absolutely horrible idea. He's right , if you get a scratch, nothing short of refinishing and rebluing will fix it

Mothers works great on a SS gun but will remove the blueing on a blue gun . Its mostly amonia and a fine abrasive.

Wax is a good preservative, but don't use "cleaner" waxes, which contain abrasives. Simonize "Original Fine Car Wax" is good for car and gun.

I use Butcher's Wax . Any Carnuba based wax will work fine .
