Quick Question

First off, don't know to much about "coach guns"

Can a coach gun with internal hammers such as the stoeger be decocked.
I might be wrong, but does it make it a safety issue not being able to see the hammer of the shotgun, and not knowing if the shotgun is cocked or not.

Forgive me for my ignorance

If there are no hammers the gun cocks on opening. The only way to decock the gun is to pull the trigger. These guns have safeties and they should be used. Most guns like this automaticaly put the gun on safety when opened.
