Colt 6920 Trooper

I picked up a Colt 6920 Trooper today. I was looking for a 6920 Magpul, but the Trooper was less than the 6920 Magpul version and came with a 13" M-LOK forearm.

Out of the box:

I went ahead and set it up the way I like with a Blue Force Gear 2-point sling on QD mounts, +MOE grip, CTR buttstock, Magpul Pro sights and a Vortex Sparc AR.

I had to order the TLR-1 HL (800 lumens) I wanted, so I have to wait for it.

I can't wait to get it out to the range and break it in.

I ran 150rds through it today. I sighted in the Sparc AR/iron sights and practiced shooting on the move. I heated it up pretty good!

It replaces this Colt 6920 that was recently loaned out to a close friend. He was recently hired by a small PD that doesn't issue patrol rifles. It's on indefinite loan.

Old school LE 6920....I put it together for about $650 as an OEM adding the stock, handguards, and carry handle I already had...

But with a binary trigger so I guess the price is a bit higher than $650

Very nice.

There's still a part of me that wants a plain Jane Colt M4 to just leave stock to go along with my A2 build.

I have a decked out Daniel Defense with Aimpoint compM4s and surfire suppressor, I have a Varmint piston AR, I have a couple AR-10's in .308, and a mid-length BCM with ACOG...

But I wanted to have a plain Jane , non-mall ninja, M4. And have resisted all the temptation so far to put an Eotec or something and just GI handguards, no rail.

My next AR is going to be one of those colt A4's with carry handle and 20" barrel. I will probably put a trigger in that one but beyond that, no mods.

Here is my decked out DD with Larue QD mounts for the Aimpoint compM4s and 3x-c, and Larue 2s MBT Trigger.
I don't have the brake on in this photo.
