I was wondering if you ever considered putting the TFL Logo, links, and other things on the top of every page into a separate frame. There's a lot of things that frames could be useful for here, including a list of forum topics so that we could hop between topics.
I know some people just don't like frames, or don't want to use them for those with "lesser" browsers, so I promise Iwon't be hurt if you don't like my idea ------------------ I hate laws that make me a criminal without me even knowing it. I know nothing of the benefit of "frames". Email me, please.

Anything that can be done with frames, can be done better without them.

Spark,
What don't you like about frames? And how can their effects be duplicated without using them? Please share, I always want to improve my website. Frames are bad for a number of reasons. They make it more difficult to maintain your site, they take up precious real estate on your monitor, etc etc etc.
An example of how not to use frames can be seen on Benchmade's site, http://www.benchmade.com On larger resolution settings, great portions of the screen is taken up needlessly by the frames. If you don't link to other sites properly, you wind up "framing" them as well. I had this happen to me, someone was framing a site I built and claiming the content as their own, essentially stealing my hard work. Not cool. There's plenty of pages out there that will tell you why frames suck: http://www.useit.com/alertbox/9612.html Spark ------------------ Kevin Jon Schlossberg SysOp and Administrator for BladeForums.com www.bladeforums.com |

I stand corrected Perhaps I will even change my site. I didn't realize that 10% of web surfers can't view frames.

marc-
Sorry I had you go to the trouble of emailing me...and thanks. Obviously, given the responses here, frames are not on the agenda. Rich |

no trouble, Rich. now, if it comes up again, you'll know. No harm done, just a small bruise on my web creating ego.
