I was reading the updated forum rules regarding copyright concerns.

I'm not sure I understand the concern over "hotlinking" images. It does not seem to be a copyright issue since the image is not copied at all, but is merely displayed as it normally is in context. The owner has all the authority and power to block such linking, or to just take the photo down, or change the URL.

But in the case it is, you might want to revisit your number one sticky here, which gives details on how to "hotlink" photos...(I've never liked hotlinking photos unless I own the photo hosting rights anyway since it could be changed to something undesirable)
