45-70 trapdoor velocities using pyrodex

Just an off the shelf weird question. Is it possible to load 45-70 loads using pyrodex black powder substitute? If so, what would the ratio be because i know that it doesn't act like black powder exactly. The original loading was 70gr of black powder, so would 50gr of substitute be too low? What about the pellets? I like the versatality of that caliber which is why I'm curious. I currently load 330 gr gould Express with 12 gr of unique out of a marlin 1895 with a 20" barrel. I've also used imr 4198 to good results, however want to try using black powder or the equivilant. Yeah I do load the modern stuff too however I like to explore the possibilities.

Hodgdon manual #24 is full of both Pyrodex and Black powder information

page 346 Pyrodex CTG is designed for use in black powder cartridges when used on volume to volume basis it will give approximately the same velocity and pressure as FFG black powder.
Listed loads 45/70
300 Gr bullet 58 grains velocity 1555
350 Gr 56 1449
405 Gr 52 1306
500 Gr 50 1153

The Lyman BP Handbook and Reloading Guide has Pyrodex load data too.
No Lever action loads out of a Trap Door. No TD rifle loads out of a Carbine either. Hurts. Trust me. TD Carbines used 55 grains of BP.
There are some TD Carbine Pyrodex loads here.
