TSA: 65 Guns Seized At Airports This Week

54 of those guns were loaded. There's a list by airport and caliber. Two guns were seized at JFK this week; five at DFW.

Quote:
The Transportation and Security Administration (TSA) has reported that this past week they retrieved 65 guns at airports across the country with 54 of the firearms being loaded.

One of the more inconspicuous finds was a sidearm strapped to the prosthetic leg of a passenger at Salt Lake City International (SLA) airport.

One of them on the list was a musket! At least it wasn't loaded.

Pretty stupid, but I wonder if they can get them back after they return? I once forgot a knife in my carry on, and was given the option to mail it from USPS kiosk near checkpoint

Well, since they get arrested and locked up in the local jail I assume the gun becomes evidence in their criminal trial. Once the process is over I suppose the gun is returned, but not really sure about all the legal issues.

Seeing multiple at Jax doesn't surprise me.

Good thing there were no scary 5.56 ones on the list Might have been a totally different story

Wonder if this includes the ones confiscated from our glorious leaders that "forgot" they had them.

It doesn't surprise me that most of them are states where carry is common. There are about a million permit holders in FL, and 10 of the guns were in Florida airports. Ten out of a million really isn't that many.

Kind of scratching my head at the "musket" in Orlando. Really? Did they classify a muzzleloading derringer as a musket? A musket wouldn't fit in a carry on bag.

The guy with the prosthetic leg- it's not like he can feel it.
