Self defense... More than your gun.
We shoot, we dryfire,we reload to shoot more, we may even train shooting our ccw with our weak hand... But it doesn't end there.
Self defense means being able to defend yourself... and yourself may be the only weapon you have. Lest we forget that Our mind and body is the real weapon and our gun is just the tool... Here are some pictures. Pistolero master, competition shooter and LFI founder Massad Ayoob showing us he practices what he preaches: home-9.jpg str2.jpg |

Aside from the necessities that you can only use your body when you are unarmed , I am a snob believer to the statement '' Mind is the weapon, gun is the tool '' even you have a gun in your hands.
Accuracy and tactics win, not the weapon and the bullets. Best. |

Yes, it is, LUPUS...and training and awareness helps.
Know your surroundings and ways to stop attackers....unless deadly force is the last and only option. Then don't hesitate. Know your local laws. Last edited by daddySEAL; September 23, 2007 at 10:15 AM. |

You have to upload that somewhere so we can see it. Its on your computer and your computer doesnt like us.
Self defense is a whole package, the gun is just one part of it. If its all your relying on, you may come up a little short. |

Too True Too many see a pistol as some sort of all powerful talisman It is just one tool for your toolbox |

I was just cracking a joke. Self defense is multi-layered. Handguns, edged weapons, and hand to hand combat are all important aspects. The best defense of all is avoidance. Being aware of your surroundings and what is happening around you is very important.

You have to find a hosting site. I used to use Image Station, but they just sent me a note they are closing and I have to transfer stuff, so I dont have a place for you right off. I'm sure someone will have one though.
You could also try putting it up on YouTube, that might even be easier, I just havent done it myself. |

Reading this post and looking at those photos reminds me of the Indiana Jones movie when Indie shot the martial artist expert.

Indy also seemed to know what to do when his gun wasnt present. Diversity is a good thing.

Not to start telling old fight stories but....
Everyone that is serious about self-defense should take the time to add some unarmed skills to their tool box IMHO. A well rounded knowledge of striking, kicking, joint locks and take downs combined with an understanding of ground fighting techniques is invaluable to being prepared for self defense.
Unfortunately, too many folks seem believe that a trip to a gun store is the 1 best answer to every encounter that they may face. |

AK103K, this is something I'd rather not put on a place that the whole world won't look at like YouTube. Sorry, but it's for a reason I'd rather not get into details about.
Is there another hosting place mainly only people here could see or know about because of this forum? In fact, guys....I'd better not post it. It's from where I work and could mean my job if I didn't get official permission from executives to put it on the web. I don't think they'd be in favor of it. I'm sorry everyone. I was wanting to help, but it isn't worth losing my job over. I'm sorry |
