Where Do You Fat Guys Carry

I don't carry very often, but unless I'm wearing a jacket, I haven't found a practical way to conceal. At 6'5" and 350 lbs, lets face it, I'm fat. Trying to hide a gun under a shirt will usually print. Using a fanny pack is hardly concealing.

Something like 2/3 of Americans are overweight. So what do you do (besides diet)?

At 6'4" and 300lbs give or take, I'm getting rather "fluffy". When I carry my S&W M66, I find that I can conceal it OWB under a XXL T-Shirt in an El Paso #88 "Street Combat" holster. When I want something smaller, I carry a S&W M36 in a Tagua pocket holster. In the winter, I often carry a S&W 629 in a Kramer Horsehide Scabbard under a coat, but I can fairly easily conceal just about any gun I own under my coat.

Well hell,
In Colorado in the winter, you can carry an AR15 concealed. The smartcarry is like a double wide diaper stuffed down your crotch. Yeah I have one (okay, 2). I have truly invested $750 to $1000 on various IWBs, tuckables, MOBs. If you are an off duty LEO, where you and the buds joke about it if you get spotted, stuff your crotch, show a bit of pregnancy on one side or the other with an IWB (tuckable or not), wear a big overwear garment (flannel and hawaiin shirts look great in the boardroom), or wear an OWB and a van halen T-shirt.
In Texas, if it peeks out, you are breaking the law.

I pocket carry.

I used to carry a NAA Mini Revolver in my navel next to my wallet, but I lost a few pounds so that you could see the butt of the revolver poking out of my belly whenever I wore spandex muscle shirts...

So I switched to a back pocket holster for a Seecamp

Why are you concerned about concealing mouse guns in Alaska? Notwithstanding 2cooltoolz comment about concealing AR-15s in winter gear, in Alaska you can carry a Desert Eagle in .50AE on a headband if you wanted to.

But our "Summers" up here are brutal! Have to change out the Desert Eagle headband for the 1911 baseball hat! (Remember, if it doesn't get dark for months, you don't have to take off your baseball hat!)

OWB, at 3:00. Type of gun doesn't matter, open or concealed. It's right there just over my right side pants pocket.

Not a lot of helpful info on this thread, folks. I think the OP was looking for genuine advice, not fat jokes.

back getting real... I carry 95% of the time under a loose shirt OWB in a high ride canted holster at 4:00 - 5:00 ( depending on belt loops of my jeans ) Levis seem to have my favorite belt loop spacing

my biker buddy has been openly conceiling his 380 Taurus in the supplied Bulldog PDA style holster... I'm a budding hobby holster maker, & did up holsters for my shooting friends for Christmas & for this guy I made an improved leather holster that fits his 38 Special double derringer... I'm going to make one of these to fit my 380, because it's much improved ( much smaller, closer to the size of a cell phone or pda, & holds the gun in a natural draw position ) over the Bulldog style that Taurus ships with the TCP, whichis too large IMO, & puts the gun in a layed down position, which is difficult / un-natural to draw from ...
this is the holster I made, holds a reload for his derringer...

otherwise if in dress clothes, I'll pocket carry a smallish gun in my suit coat jacket pocket, or my NAA mini in my front pants pocket... but over all I don't prefer pocket carry, especially in my pants pockets, as they are nomally full of other stuff, since I normally carry my wallet in one of my front pockets as well ( deters pick pockets... & I wouldn't want to carry a gun in a wallet holster in my back pocket for the same reasons I don't carry my wallet there )

Six foot; 310 pounds.

A Ruger LCP in the front pocket, and a lightweight 1911 (usually 9mm) in an IWB holster from either John O'Roark or CrossBreed.

Fat guy here, I carry a Ruger sp101 in my front pocket. I am kind of handy with leather and a stiching awl so I make my own pocket holsters. I also make a pretty good inside the waistband holster but I never use them. For many years I have been making ones that enable you to tuck in your shirt, now I see that big companies are making the very same design. I have given several of them away here in Indianapolis but I doubt that the big guys have seen one of mine. It goes to show that great minds travel in the same channels.

6-2 280lbs IWB Ruger P90 at 3 o'clock, most times I wear a pocket T with a untucked shirt over it, if I'm dressed up a Glock 26 in my front pocket.

5'9" 250lbs... I carry iwb at 5 o'clock, and pocket carry J frame smith .38... I haven't been carrying since I've moved to texas from tennessee because I haven't learned all the rules... In TN even if it peeks out it's ok because it doesn't have to be conceiled

6'2 380lbs and sometimes I carry a glock 17 in a uncle mike's paddle holster or if I don't feel like wearing a button down shirt glock 26 in my front pocket.
