small pistol primers

for .38 CAS DOES ANY ONE USE CCI MAG PRIMERS?

You shouldn't need the mags - regular ones should work just fine for the 38s. What are you using for powder?

glee - I am assuming that your post of .36 gr of HP38 was intended to be 3.6 grnot .36 gr

My Speers manual (#14) indicates that the minimum starting load suggested for 38 spl is 3.6 gr. It does not have a * next to it which is their way of indicating that a mag primer is suggested. Go to the powder manufacturer's site and double check their loading data - always a safe thing to do - and see if they recommend a mag primer but you should be just fine with a regular one.

The above information I just passed on was for a 158 gr bullet. I'm not sure what you are using so double check the powder mfg. site for the bullet weight you are going to use. With a 158 gr bullet - Speers shows a velocity of 855 fps (page 876)

Yes it was suppose to be 3.6,but I am using 120 gr bullets
