Boberg....the Swiss watch of compact 9's.
Here's some overlays that will give you an idea for size comparisons. http://community.bobergarms.com/notes/Overlays http://www.bobergarms.com/ |

The best pocket pistol is without question a Rohrbraugh 9mm. The questions are can you find one and do you want to pay$1000.00 for the BEST.

Hey Scotch?...
Is that a Uzi tactical defense pen in the Walther PPS pistol image?
I got my bud in New York a Uzi tactical pen(with the sharp crown) in early 2012. That comes in handy. CF |

Taurus 709 Slim is a easily concealed gun. The slide is longer than many compacts which makes a longer aiming plane. It is also available in a 40 S&W model, the 740 Slim (I think I am right on the model #, if not it is something similar)
Mine has been carried and fired alot. Have had Taurus work on it twice over the years and their turn around time has been under 10 days on both cases. |

Reliable Conceal Weapon
Sig P290RS, just wrote about that in another thread along with the P232. Both of mine are Sour Sigs. I have an M&P40 Shield, love it, not one issue. It did take 9 months to get it though. Kahr K9, awesome, reliable, extremely accurate. All steel, but virtually recoil free compared to a poly 9mm. Springfield EMP, the 40 is awesome, though I am more accurate with my Kahr MK40 than the EMP. Still like both of them, the EMP has room for larger hands than the Kahr. The Kahr MK series are some of the smallest 9 & 40 caliber All Metal handguns around. I tried a Ruger LC9 when they came out, didn't like it as much as the M&P Shield. I like the way the M&P fits my hand better than the Sig P290 as well. The Sig P232 is probably the most comfortable gun to hold and the Kahr K9 is second. The Kahrs beat the Sig hands down for reliability in my experience though.

Try out as many choices as you can rent or borrow. Most of us are quick to share at the range if asked. Bottom line is if you like it, you will carry it and shoot it for fun, both good things.
And as you discovered, if you buy right but it turns out to be a bad choice, it is hard to lose money these days. And limiting ammo needs by eliminating a caliber is a plus as well. |

So I've narrowed it to models that don't have a safety to disengage. I like that about my XD and want all my carry guns to function the same way. Thoughts on Kahr p9? I've heard there is a gap when using the mag with a finger extension that can pinch.

Another vote for the 709 slim. Very easy to disengage the safety

I'm with hairbag; check out Kahr ... my EDC since I got my plastic nine years ago has been a PM9; has never failed in any way, accurate and easy to maintain ... not sure why folks are trying to convince you to get another .380 when you expressed interest in a more potent cartridge; mine is loaded with Hornady 110gr 9mm Critical Defense ... and if the PM9 is a bit pricey, take a look at its baby brother, the CM9 ... same basic design minus a few frills for a lot less money ... I pocket carry mine a lot when it's warm here in Texas, disappears in a pocket with a good holster ...
