Barrel Thickness

Today I noticed how much thinner the barrel wall is on my XD45 as compared to my Glock 9mm. The XD is only .065" and the Glock is .107". I would have presumed the .45 would have a heavier barrel. Any thoughts?

.45 ACP operates at lower chamber pressure than 9mm, so it doesn't need as thick a barrel wall. Plus, they probably wanted to keep it as skinny as possible so they didn't have to bulk up the slide any more than necessary.
