410 Herters Case 2½" ½oz WAA410HS H110/W296

Was through loading my standard 2½" 410 AA(HS) shells . . .
- ½oz / #9 / lead / 15.8gr/H110 / WAA410HS Wad

...when I looked over my bench and saw a couple of fired Herters hulls I ordinarily just throw away

At $12/box I thought "What the heck...?" and ran them through the same MEC600JR cycle/components as the Winchester AA's I'd just finished.

Perfect loadout/crimp.

I'll chronograph them tomorrow to get a hint at pressure, but the perfection of the resulting shell surprised me.
I'd expected to get a Frankenstein -- but the Herters looked better than the AA's.

Anyone else ever reload them on a lark?

H110/W296
is actually the long-favored shotshell powder for 410
See Hodgdon Reloading Data and/or Lyman Shotshell book.
