NM sling length?

If you know the length between the swivels on a rifle, how do you determined the correct total length of a turner NM leather sling? The 54' seems to be the most popular, but I want to get the right one the first time around. I've never had one before, but they are all I hear about from high power and Target shooters.

I know this has been asked before, but nobody
the length is for the correct position when shooting right? Just don't want to end up with one that's way too long; or worse yet, too short.

Swivel to swivel is 25" on the nose.

great question, i would have thought you would have gotten some answers from some militaries. I know nothing about nothing , but i would cut long and try it out. Alot would depend on the intended use. Strictly carry or to wrap around arm while shooting to add stability.

Why not contact Turner and ask them?

Google for a leather M1 Garand sling for sale then buy it. Their one size is adjustable for everyone.
