Your favorite polymer 45

Like most of us I have way more firearms than I need.
I own 3 1911s and im thinking about picking up a ploymer .45.
For those that own them, what's your favorite. With Hk dropping their prices the HK45 is becoming more realisticly prices and now is close enough to be in the conversation. I'm looking for a range toy primarily and a house gun, no plan to carry.

My favorite shooting .45 was my Beretta PX4...

Very nice grip... probably what Glock would have done if they could go back in time an reinvent the 21.

Only problem was that it was too large for carry (9 round capacity, with a 10 round extended option... that’s it), which is what I did want in a polymer .45. Sold it and went with the Glock 30S (a 19 in .45). That is now my favorite, but being you stated no carry... I’ll switch in the 41 or 21. .45 Glock magazines are out there like no other.

I will confess- I haven't shot many polymer .45acp handguns.

I have only shot 5- GLock G21, Glock G30SF, Ruger P97DC, H&K USP .45 Compact and S&W M&P .45 [full sized].

I hear great things about the XD series, but they just feel too 'tall' in my hand.
I've never fired one.

I am in California, so my access is more limited than many of you.

Of all of them, the one that I like the most is the one that looks the least attractive- but is the most reliable and the most accurate of any of them [in my hands- YMMV]: the Ruger P97.

My group sizes were smaller with this one than any of the others, and it feels comforatble in my hand.

The M&P felt the BEST in my hand, but the group sizes were not as good as the Ruger P97.

I am not saying the Ruger is the BEST of them- only that it works best in my hands of those.

I sold the M&P and H&K. I still have the P97 and the G30SF [due to 10mm conversion ability and size]. Of the two, I shoot the P97 better.

Sig P320F, very soft shooting and accurate. P320c isnt to far behind.

I was surprised by how soft shooting the Springfield XD45 is. And accurate!

I recently acquired the FNX tactical in 45. Very pleasant to shoot. I warn you since it is a double stack magazine holding 15 45 acp rounds, if your hands are small this gun may not be suited for you. My brother traded his in because the handle was too big. I find it comfortable.

For me, it has to be a carry size, and give me a mag cap of 10 or more.

Glock 30.4. The Glock 30s is probably next, though I don’t have one of those.

+1 for the XDm .45. I had a FNX tactical but I didn't love it as much as I should have, considering the price. I am beginning to not like the DA/SA action type and wanted to try a DAO or striker-fired gun. About that time, I got a XD9 in a horse-trade and actually liked it very much. Wanting an inexpensive, TB, striker-fired .45 with tall sights, rail, and a low enough bore to see the sights, there weren't a lot of options. I got a good deal on the XDm and it is working out very well.

XDS 3.3 is my EDC. I like it a lot. Accurate and not too heavy.

My favorite is my full-sized Tanfoglio (CZ "clone"). I prefer the CZ platform.

I also have an almost identical pistol in 40 caliber. I slightly prefer it to my Glock 22.

HK45 with LEM. The Compact for carry but the full-size is the better for shooting.

The full-size carries very well as it's thin. It's the MAGAZINE FOLLOWERS that are obtrusive.

Another vote for the HK45. Modern grip and ergos but still a beast like the USP 45.

I like the old USP 45.

The HK45 is very nice, ergo's very similar to a 1911, but the USP is softer shooting, super accurate and reliable with my light target SWC loads.

The HK45C is a nice compact.

The Glock 21and 30 are very good shooters too. They don't like SWC's, but shoot regular ammo very well.

My only .45 was a Dan Wesson PM7 , its such a quality gun that I've never looked at another 1911.
But then much like you I had a hankering for another .45 in Polymer.

I got a Ruger P345, DA/SA, single stack 8rds,good sights, slim and shoots well.

It was discontinued a few years back, so you might be able to find a used one.

It comes with a caveat - it has a magazine disconnect safety, which is a deal killer for Zombie killers
