310 grain in 44 special
Whos done it?
I did. Loaded up some of my lee cast 310 grainers that weighed out almost 320 grains, loaded over a charge of trail boss. I held the gun with one hand, closed my eyes, said a prayer, and....thump. Mellow, quiet, target said they didnt tumble. Hmm... I didnt test accuracy very extensively because my target was pretty shot up but they seemed ok. Wondering what my muzzle velocity was. I was being sure to see splashes in the berm with each shot. Slow, heavy, quiet. Whats not to like?

I have in a .44 CA bulldog and in my uberti cattleman. Of course they shot high.
The cattleman shot pretty accurate at 25 yds with 9.5 gr of 2400 and lee 310 (ww), and bluedot was good also. I will have to look up my loads for the bulldog(i know one good one was 6.8 gr of bluedot) Last edited by the Black Spot; October 3, 2018 at 09:00 AM. |
