Dual Automatic Rifle - Project Peruvian Navy

The Dual Automatic Rifle (FAD - Fusil Automático Doble) designed by Salomón Braga Lozo of SIMA (Navy Industrial Service) is a proposal centered around the cartridge NATO 5.56x45mm that offers less recoil, less weight and volume while at the same time giving precision, adequate range and ergonomy that is to be coupled with a grenade launcher (40mm) in a single package.

The weapon design includes the advantages of the bullpup system, while trying to deal with the issues related to it.

Proposed Final Arrangement:

- "bullpup" configuration; being a compact weapon can be easily used by armor crews, as back-up weapon.

- Cartridge case similar to that of M-16. 30 cartridges 5.56x45mm. (STANAG 4179) inclined to 12º.
- Ejection Port to 45º allows the unobstructed ejection of cartridges.
- Rate fo fire of 550 shots per minute with an effective range of 600 mts.
- 40mm grenade launcher with pump-action reload mechanism.
- Standar sight,manually regulated.
- Rail Coupling Picatinny type for the instalation of Optical lens.
- semi-automatic and automatic firing modes.
- Use of lightweight materials will alow a further weight reduction from current 4.8kg to 3.6kg.
