colt frontier scout

My former minister at our church has an old Colt 22 that he got from his father in 1962. He has not shot it since the 60s. He would like to know the approx. value before he decides what to do with it.

Colt Frontier Scout. All black finish with black plastic looking grips. 4' bbl. The only ware i can see on it is from the cocking latch on the cylender.

Serial # is 132xxxx

He would also like to know approx. what year it was made.

Thank you for your cooperation.

It was probably made in 1961. The last digit on the serial number should be the letter F.

As far as the value, all that depends on condition and if it has the original box. As far a a ball park figure on the value, they usually sell between $225 to $350.

Is it a .22 LR or a .22 Magnum?
