Filled one spot on my wish list!

Just picked up a 1956 type 56 sks still in cosmoline. It came with a tapco stock, one 40rd and two 30 rd promags for $429.

I was worried about the stock fitting after hearing many bad reviews, but I'm happy to report it fit perfect! Like a glove! No bedding or clearancing needed.

I'm also happy to report all three mags fit tight and function flawlessly.

About 200rds through it so far with no FTF. 3in. groups at 100 yrds with cheap ammo.

Totally stoked! Boomer

I bought a Henry lever 22lr yesterday. Should have got one years ago to go along with my semi-auto 22lr and bolt action 22 magnum rifles(and my 22 lr/mag revolver and 22lr semi-auto pistol).

I just brought a Remington 700 action to my gunsmith for another custom build. I'm doing a 260 rem with a 22" hart heavy barrel, 1-8 twist in an HS precision stock, jewel trigger and leupold glass. He built me a 300 win mag last year and it is crazy accurate. Couldn't resist doing another. This one should be more fun to shoot. There's only so much 300 a man can shoot.

my next will probably be a steyr M95 though a M1917, M38 swede and 1903A3 would be nice at some point as well.

A second M-1 Garand will be my next: also a Service Grade from the CMP.
After decades of foreign governments switching to other types and shipping so many "loaned rifles" back to our DOD, the CMP might not receive any more Garands in serious quantities.

My Gun Guru retired from the Navy Rifle Team and a contact inside the CMP seemed very doubtful, just over a year ago.

Having watched a number of "Combat" episodes when in grade school, it is The US Battle Rifle, in my mind.
Otherwise, probably a 1917 (30-06), having the nice aperture sights and very solid build, or a Springfield above the 8**,*** series.

Where most of my purchases have been handguns for the past few years I am getting the itch for a lever gun. I did but a Henry Goldenboy 22WMR a few years agi I'm wanting a centerfire now. Marlins are great. Had an 1895 30 por so years ago. Early modern model that I wish I had never got rid of. (See well learned dig line below)
But I really want a Winchester style lever gun. I've been tossing around pre/post 64. For a shooter, which all my guns are It doesn't make a lot of difference from what I've read. I also considered the Mossberg 464 for about 5 minutes! But the recoil pad, angle eject, and tang safety are just too much of a turn off.
I did just see a pre-64 (1958) 94 listed locally for $490 firm. The pics looked very good. Nice metal finish, and beautiful walnut wood. The add said "price good for this weekend only". I don't know what the private seller will do tomorrow, but I'm going to keep an eye on It! Might send him a text just to see where he stands.

Custom built 6mm LBC Turbo. Probably a Brux barrel on a Shilen DGR action. That's a long ways down the road though because I currently have 2 brand new unfired custom rifles sitting at home. Those 2 rifles were fairly hard to convince the wife to allow, a third rifle right now would be a long shot in the dark

I have the sako grey wolf in 7mm rem mag and love it. The tikka may be lighter though

I'm not really in a position to buy any new guns right now, but there is only one I really have in mind anyway. Looking for a 22lr lever rifle, most likely a Henry.

I passed on one back in November, a Golden Boy, and have been kicking myself for it. I'll set it right some day; maybe by then I will be able to get some ammo for it, too.

Well..... its been forever since ive posted. I wish my excuse was ive been shooting too much, but we all know thats a lie.

I have several pending "new rifle" projects. More like conversions actually.

#1. Convert my Remington 700 Sendero 300 ultra mag into a 338 edge. Seems like a no brainer now that i have a place to shoot 2000 meters whenever the conditions allow.
All it needs is a new barrel, new stock, new optic.

Think ill call her my 338 Sendero!!

Meanwhile I'll continue to shoot my Savage 110FCP 338 LM

#2. Convert my overscoped, overstocked Rem 700 SPS 22-250 into a "practical rifle" Rem 260. Heard lots of great things about that round. Would love to compare it to my 308.

Meanwhile I'll continue to shoot my Rem 700 Milspec 5R.

I had a savage 11/111 TH xp 7mm mag, but I sold it about a month ago. The price of ammo was to high for my liking. Friday I paid for a savage 10/110 TH so 30-06. Can't wait for it to get here n I have a chance to take it to the range. Also the stock was a big factor for me, I enjoy the feel of a wood stock much better then the synthetic ones the 11/11 come with.
