6mm 105 Hornady Match
I'm set up with my little experiment with my 6mm Creedmore. It does not look promising based on the fact that the bullet only goes half way into the case neck, or less. So it's single shot since putting them in the mag ensures alignment issues.
But I found 500 Hornady match 105's cheap. Optimum powders seem to be IMR 4831, IMR 4350, RL-19 and RL-22. Any other ideas or experiences? |

Since case volume is simular to 243 Win, you may want to try RL26.
I used this in my wife's Rossi R243 with good sucess. Was told it wouldn't stabilize. Did just fine out to 500 yards. Have since traded it on a Savage 110 FP in 223, so didn't get to try it further.

"...the bullet only goes half way into..." That makes no difference one way or the other. It best best to load to the max OAL(and that's measured from the pointy part to the flat part. No ogives involved.) given in your manual. Been using IMR4350 with Speer 105's in .243 for eons myself. Match bullets would be wasted with my rifle. Barrels not up to 'em.
Oh and Hornady match bullets are 100% unsuitable for hunting anything but varmints.

Yeah, I'll get to the deer load maybe. Probably a 100 grain BTSP.
