Any opinions on 9mm conceal carry?

I am looking for a 9mm to conceal carry. I have had a 32 acp for a few years, but I think I need something with more knock down.

I have seen the taurus slim, but its a taurus, and I am not about to buy that Kel Tek P9.

Any one have any suggestions?

Also if you interest in a 32acp for whatever reason I am selling it at gunsforsale.net, it is a Beretta Tomcat semi-auto

I would reccomend a CZ 75 compact model. I carry the steel framed model 75 compact. I hear good things about the P-01 and PCR models also. Mine is carried in a Bianchi IWB holster. You really can't go wrong with a CZ!!

Well it is a double stack . . . And it is a Glock.

Have you considered the G19? Fairly small overall. For a .45, you might consider a G36.

Both guns are reliable and light compared to an all steel gun.

I'm curious, why not carry a Keltec PF-9?

It really sounds like you want something as close to your .32 in terms of concealment, but want the more effective 9mm round. Here are my recommendations.

-Kel-Tec PF-9 ( I know you said no, but I have owned 2 and they are surprisingly accurate and are well made. Why would Ruger make a clone if it wasn't a good design?)
-Kahr PM9/CM9
-Taurus PT-709 Slim
-Kimber Solo (Too pricey for my blue collar blood.)
-Sig Sauer P290 (My second choice.)
-Beretta BU9 Nano (My personal carry gun and first choice.)
-Ruger LC9 (I don't like the reports either.)

I would either get the Beretta or the Sig. Beretta if you like Glock type triggers and the Sig if you like a true DAO.

Beretta Px4 Storm Subcompact

I was in the market for solid, reliable 9mm for concealed carry back in May, and finally bought one in June. I settled on this little baby.
Its amazing.
I've probably only put like 250 or 300 rounds through it, but not a single misfire / jam / etc to speak of.

You know how some guns just feel right in your hand? This was that piece for me. It has a very natural feel to it.
It would be easier to give you pointers if we knew more about your requirements or desires in your new 9mm...

You mentioned concealed carry, so I'll talk to that.
In many pairs of pants, I can carry it in my pocket. And I don't mean cargo pants, either (although that would certainly work too). Its practically identical in dimension to the Glock 26, but you have an ambidextrous safety so you don't shoot your dick off... which is good. How big/small do you want to go? This gun, as far as pocket pistols go, is at the big end. But super easy to conceal, and 13+1 capacity made it an easy choice for me.

Hope this helps!

Get the most duty-capable firearm that you will carry 100% of the time, NOT the smallest weapon you can find.

Ruger SR9c is my choice. S&W M&P9c, Glock 26, XDm 3.8" 9mm compact... All duty pistols, cut for carry, and accepting of full size mags.

I have a kel tec pf9 and it has worked flawless. It fits in my pocket no problem. People knock their reliability, but I personally have not had one issue with mine.

.32 ACP is marginal at best. Here are some good choices in no particular order.

Glock 26
Walter PPS
Ruger LC9
Beretta Nano
S&W Shield
Kahr CM-9 or PM-9
SIG P290

I like my little Kel-Tec P-11. The most comfortable, concealable 9mm for carry I've ever encountered. I have the belt clip installed, so I don't need a holster. The mag extensions give a solid grip for all your fingers too.

10+1 capacity is pretty impressive, for a gun this size. Mine has been flawlessly reliable so far.

Depends on what size you are looking for. Here's my suggestions:

Single Stack: Kahr CM, Kahr CW, M&P Shield

Double Stack Subcompact: Glock 26

Double Stack Compact: M&P Compact, Glock 19

Were I in the market (already have an EMP), I'd get an sR9c.

As far as firepower and size, it's hard to beat the Glock 26.

I carry the G26 and it works pretty well. I carry it AIWB with a tucked in shirt and it does well in both concealment and comfort.

I owned a PF9, but it wasn't reliable enough for me to carry it, so -1 (hopefully this balances some of the +1's this gun has gotten - don't do it.).

For a single stack 9 I'd recommend going with Kahr(CM or PM), Sig(P290), or S&W Shield. I don't own any of these, but I have done a lot of personal research as I'm considering a small single stack 9 (to replace the afore mentioned PF9 that I sold).

If you are amenable to something other than 9mm (well, technically .38 special is 9mm), you might want to consider a S&W 642 or 442 - or a Ruger LCR.

With +P loads, I think they are more than adequate for self defense and concealability is a notch better than even the smallest 9mm's. I carry my 642 either in the pocket or in a SmartCarry when I need really deep concealment. Don't just look at the HxWxD numbers and compare them to the small semi autos. For some reason, the geometry of the 5 shot revolvers seem to carry and conceal better than the flat and squarish semi's.

I'll second 'no PF-9'. Emphatically.

There are entirely too many samples with extraction issues.

I've carried a Kahr P9 for 6 years now and love it. It would suggest it or the CW9.

If you liked your Beretta, the PX4 line is a really nice line of polymer pistols with a similar manual of arms. My daughter has the compact, and it just might be the softest shooting 9mm I have ever shot. Very good accuracy, nice fit and finish - all in all a very impressive little pistol. In considering the PX4 line, remember that the subcompact does not have the rotating barrel of the full size and compact versions. The rotating barrel contributes considerably to reduction of recoil.

My regular carry is a Glock 26. Also a nice pistol, with a very different trigger and safety system. Some people are comfortable with them, some not.

The best approach is to decide what capacity, trigger, safety, and other features you want, then narrow your choices down by features and pick one that feels good in your hand and, if it is possible to shoot it before purchase by renting or borrowing one, one that you shoot well and comfortably.
