No Bows to Simi Valley?

I was shopping around on the interwebs, looking at recurve bows and saw that Bass Pro Shops won't ship a BOW to Simi Valley, CA. Good Lord! Are they even allowed to have pointy sticks??

You shouldn't have said that. Now they will ban sticks with (or without) points.

Doesn't seem to be any official restrictions on archery equipment there, other than for youths under the age of 18 not being supervised by an adult.
A web search sez there's a few archery clubs in the area.
Maybe Bass had an unfavorable experience there.

Just the city of Simi Valley?

You can ask bass Pro why.

Isn't the answer obvious?

They will only ship simi automatics to Simi Valley.

After bows and pointy sticks, can fresh fruit be far behind?

If it makes you feel any better you can't buy slingshots with wrist braces in NJ, they consider them deadly silenced weapons.

They're quiet, but not totally silent. I forget where & when, but I recall hearing of a legal argument in one of those eastern places where slingshots are "weapons". They were restricting the classic kids "Y" type slingshot as a deadly weapon. Turned out they were basing that on an old ordinance from the early 1800s, which was, in turn a slight update of the pre-revolutionary war British colonial ordinance, which restricted "slung shot" as a deadly weapon.

Slung shot (shot slung from a sling) IS a deadly weapon, and everyone who didn't manage to duck every single Sunday School session knows it. (David & Goliath)

When that became public information, they took the kids Y slingshot off the deadly weapon list. This was a few decades ago, and I forget exactly where it happened. Probably not NJ. And probably, no matter where it was, the Y slingshot is probably back on the list today....

As to the pointy stick thing, its been done, long time ago, and I'm sure they're still doing it to this day, when they can.

Met a CA woman in the early 80s, she told a story of how she had a pointed stick in her purse, (like from a corn dog), and cops said it was a concealed weapon, and busted her for it.

Kudos for the excellent puns gentlemen. At least we avoided nock nock jokes.
