J manton & company

I HAVE THIS DOUBLE BARRELL SHOTGUN THAT MY DAD LEFT ME, AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IT IS! IT HAS A GOLD COLOR BADGE LIKE SHIELD TOWARD THE BOTTOM AND A DOUBLE TRIGGER. CAN SOME ONE HELP ME?

It could be a real Manton. Joseph Manton not only developed what we now call the SxS shotgun, but a lot of the people who later made those fabulous British game guns, like Purdey, worked for him.

More likely,though, it's a cheap Belgian counterfeit.
