$500 is pretty much what I see them going for at all the LGS. I keep handling them, but just can’t get excited about the trigger. It seems rough and cheap (meaning fragile-not inexpensive).

I've held one. Frankly it impressed me and I did not want it to. It violates my rule of "the best weapon is the one you already own and have spent countless hours training with". In a remarkable and uncharacteristic show of will power on my part it stayed at the store.

My brother tried to buy one a week before at the regular price of $529, but the sales associate told him about the upcoming sale. We were at our local store when they opened the doors on the 11th. Everyone was there for the Sigs. By the time we left the store, they had already sold 8 of the 28 they had in stock, and that was in the first half hour.

Seems like a good deal. I really wanted to get one, and I really liked everything about it, but I just didn't seem to shoot with it as well as I did with others. I already had a PPS M2 that fits my hand perfectly. I ended up getting a second PPS, with the compact red dot sight on it (Shield RMS-C). I really like Red Dot Sights -- I'm faster and more accurate with them, so if I'm more accurate, then maybe my 8 rounds will be equivalent to 10 or 12 with the Sig because I won't miss :P
But yeah, the P365 is a really good gun. The early issues seem to have gone away and if it fits your hand, budget and needs, get one. Most of what I see written against the gun now basically falls into the "hater" category. |

I got one at Bass Pro because they had them in stock, Academy was out of stock in the two closest stores and the central warehouse in Katy, TX. It seems like it doesn't matter how much cheaper they are if they can't deliver.
The guy before me bought two, and the sales associate was able to find two sequential serial numbered units for him. I thought that was mighty cool of him to do that. |

I picked one up at Cabela’s on Friday, i had a gift card from Xmas along with a few credit card points, so it made sense. I had forgotten how big a PITA it is to buy a gun from there. It reminds me of buying a car from a dealership.

Count me as a victim of the sale. Slightly cheaper than I have been seeing them at LGSs. Been keeping my eye on them and waiting for the negative reports to die down a bit. Mine has a 12/27 manufacture date (if I recall correctly). Looking forward to testing it out and then the whole holster, more mag buying process.

They have machined steel ones available. My Oct dated one has been fine after 600 rounds though.

My July 2018 has some 4000 rounds without a malfunction thru it.
I also dry fire without snap caps on a regular basis. Blasphemy, huh?! |

Mine from June date has almost 800 or so without a hiccup. Academy has the 12 rounders in stock for $39.99; makes the grip that much nicer.

I think all those early issues were a clever marketing ploy by Sig to get more people to wear out their 365's in order to prove they are dependable. After you've worn one out, who wouldn't want to get a replacement?

I will say that while SIG is not very forthcoming on the specifics of their barrel, IIRC, it is CHF. We had CHF barrels on a few of weapons in the Army with 40,000 rounds plus thru them and still going strong. I can post pics when I get home but my barrel still looks very good with little wear that is noticeable. |
