Walnut Media

Changed to walnut media, Cleaned the brass pretty good just did't like the dust in the case. Removed easy enough with a patch, is the dust normal?

Pretty normal. Yer gonna get the stock replies of; dryer sheets, dampened paper towels, auto polish, etc. They all work, but dust on my brass doesn't bother me...

Yes, pretty much normal. Insert fresh strips of Fabric Softener to pick up the dust.

Used dryer sheets are used most often and trap the dust which contains lead and is toxic.
Compare a used dryer sheet to a new one. The new ones have a coating that comes off in the dryer. The used ones do not have this. I think this makes the used ones better than new for tumbling. But some people prefer the fresh scent and softer brass of the new sheets.
After tumbling dispose of the now contaminated dryer sheets safely.

dryer sheets

I use dryer sheets to good effect, but I cut them into 1 1/2" squares before dropping them into my vibratory tumbler, changing out dryer sheets every tumbler full of brass.
They really pick up the lead dust and media dust.
I also drop in a cap full of New Finish car wax, then run the tumbler about 10 minutes to mix it in before putting in the brass.
Just my $0.02 worth
