-------WC 846 powder / LC brass / .308 Win 175 SMK's
I want to drive 175 SMK's at 2650fps and maintain the accuracy (.5 MOA) out of my M1A and Rem 700. I'm considering buying WC 846 surplus powder and LC brass from gibrass.com.
Please reply with any experiences you may have with this powder/bullet/brass combination. Thank you. |

No matter what you do, start at a START load, and work up. One person's "pet load" may be inaccurate in your rifle, or it may be outright dangerous. EVERY RIFLE is different.

Hmm. I think I should rephrase my question. You're right of course.
I want to know if anyone has achieved good accuracy (about .5 MOA) and an MV of > 2650fps out of an M1A (or even an OEM Rem 700). Basically, I'd like to know if this goal is possible with this combination before I buy. Thank you. |

I have WC 852....
I shoot the pulled match bullets (about 174 grains) from a .308 Garand at about 2375 to 2400 f/s.
They group really good. My pressure device says I have some more pressure to go. I have not tried WC 856. If it's as consistant as the 852, we both in good shape.
