Tracking "age" of brass

Hi Guys,
I'm reloading for .308 precision shooting. I know that eventually I'll have to buy Norma or Lapua brass, but I've got a couple thousands of FGMM cases to use for now.

I've shot some of them twice and some only once so I can still tell the difference. Now I'm thinking about a system to track how many times they are reloaded. I was thinking of a color coding system whereby a would put a little dot of nail polish on the primer, since there are so many colors the case would go to scrap long before I ran out of colors. But I'm afraid that the nail polish would get blown off or cause some other problem in the action.

What system do you guys use?

Ziplock bags, coffee cans or chinese food take-out containers labeled "Once Fired", "Twice Fired"...

Ziploc is the simple solution. And a permanent marker.

I use the 50 & 100 round plastic boxes & write my recipe on a piece of masking tape on the cover... I write the brand of case, & how many times reloaded ( along with the date loaded ) along with the rest of the info on new tape each time I reload... the brass is prepped in those 50 - 100 round lots on ammo I'm trying to make more accurate than factory... I pretty much write the times loaded with everything I reload, exception being my CAS ammo, as I often don't get the same cases back, so that ammo is mixed brand, & no "times reloaded" on my recipe sheet...

Yep, I use the 50, but mostly 100 round plastic boxes as well. Mark on a label on the box how many times the cases in the box have been reloaded. I use the o' |||| system with a slash to make five times and so on. Cases never migrate from the box for the life of cases. Simple and easy.

You can color code with a sharpie (available in red, blue, black, etc) on the primer and it will stay on there until you deprime. It's handy to separate them if you just pick up a bunch, and there is nothing on the case that needs to be redone.

I just load for a bolt action. I load till they need to be trimmed, or the primer pockets feel loose. Then they go to the recycle can. That is for bottle necked brass. I have some .221 Rem Fireball that have been reloaded more times than I can count. I inspect them well before loading them.

Pistol brass gets loaded till it splits.
