Ceramic media
This may have been covered before but I cannot find a thread on it. Using this media to clean brass I understand you mix it with water and a detergent, a powered soap, liquid, etc. Does anyone know the ratio of say 4# of media and how much water and how many teaspoons of soap? Thanks for any help and what a great site.

Like a lot of other things related to black powder, it is a cut and try thing.
I use ceramic media and have the cleaning solution that comes with it. I've also used with good results: TSP-Tablespoon in each tumbler full Dawn- about the same Lemon Juice-half a bottle of cheap stuff Cleaning solution-capful/ batch. In all cases, my best results come from an equal volume of ceramic and brass with enough liquid to give a 1.5" cover over the mix. More liquid is better than less. |
