I believe Hogue still makes a number of different types of grips for the single six.

Sorry, but I thought I read you were considering trading it for a 10/22.
Sorry if I'm wrong. |

Yes, anything for a New Model (NM) large frame Ruger should work. The Vaquero ("old"/original/large frame) is the same as the Blackhawk and short-barreled Super Blackhawks and hence NM Single Sixes.. What you want is what gripmakers refer to is the XR3-Red pattern. Little known factoid: Ruger sells a "black" laminate (silver-black) they've mislabeled online for a long time as for a Single Six but only long barrel with square back triggerguard (like the long SBHs; I.e., no such thing in a Single Six)--still is described as such last I checked a few months ago--that actually is a "regular" XR3-Red. Yep-- http://shopruger.com/New-Model-Singl...uctinfo/70088/ They fit the Single Six (and hence BHs and Vaqueros) perfectly. Contact Ruger's New Hampshire office. Otherwise, there are literally dozens of gripmakers out there that'll suit. Two excellent ones are Carl "Private" Schultz www.privatescustomgrips.com and Cary Chapman www.clccustomgrips.com. You may have to wait a bit--the norm on custom order--but may also just happen to have something ready to go.
