Electronic ear protectors

Hey what do any of you consider a good set of electronic ear muffs? I had a pair and they were great, but they got rained on and ruined. What bout Howard Leight brand?

Have two of those, real good ones! Do not leave the batteries in, when they are done! The new ones turn off on their own if you forget to turn them off.

Contrary to what a lot of people recomend, I'm not a fan of the Howard Leight Impact Sport muffs, because they don't seem to create a good seal around the ear due to their size and shape, regardless of the person using them. I much prefer these from Peltor:

Peltor...ive seen just about every brand there is. We required our instructors to have them. Peltor always worked the best, period

I like my walker game ear muffs. On advice of the ENT Dr. a few years ago, I wear them hunting as well as range shooting.

I bought a set of peltor and they work really well, my first pair so I have nothing to compare to.

I have been using Peltor's "Tactical 6 -5" model for a few years.

I bought them because they were highly recommended & they do a great job of allowing speech & sound, while reducing blast noise. I also liked the idea of a slimline type as it seemed it would minimize stock contact.

It didn't.

What it did do is bring then internal speakers into direct contact (via the foam cover) with my ears. They also have 2 other things I dislike. There is no "ON" indication. A small LED would have been nice. Lastly replacing the batteries is a pain as you have to prize the foam ear-cups off with a pointed object.

On the plus side each ear-cup is independent 100% having its own batteries, on/off, volume & electronics. If one side "goes down" the other remains working.

None are horrible features but if I were replacing them I'd get something with a screw or snap on battery cover, an "ON" indicator & full sized ear-cups.

I use and recommend the Howard Leight electronic muffs.
I wear them every day I'm working the range and have no issues with them.

I thank all of you or your input. I did buy the Howard Leight because I like the slim line earcups design. I havent got them yet, but furthermore, Im going to be using them mostly for grass mowing as I do that a lot more than shooting, and I think they would be good enough, and slimmer

And they have a stereo input jack so you can rock and mow if you wish.
