Winchester 1885 Low Wall
I am looking at Winchester's 1885 low wall, in 6.5x55 for fun at the range and for hunting in the mountains.
I hear that the weight listed at Winchester is incorrect, and I hear figures from 6.5 - 8.00 pounds. Can anybody set me straight on this? If it's going to be eight pounds and then a scope on top of that, it would be too much for me to haul up and down the mountains. I like the gun and the cartridge - but need better info about the rifle's weight. |

My 1885 is a Highwall in .30-06 with a 30" (I think ) octagon barrel and a Redfield 4-12 scope. I've only weighed it once, and it's been a while, but I believe it was just under 8 lbs............but I can't remember if that was with the scope, or just the rifle.
