Finished my 'custom' AK mag release!

Well after day of tinkering with it I am proud to report that I am happy with my new AK release!

Took some searching but it is all steel (Did try alum... I bent it)

Here are a few pics. See what u think? This is prior to the final tweaks.

Leftside So my thumb can reach it better

Rightside No extension.

I am playing around with the idea to make an ambi one.

Looks good. How far does it stick out from the side of the rifle?

It kinda reminds of hammer extension for contenders and such. It looks very effective though.

looks nice, I would have flipped it around in hopes to maybe be able to use my trigger finger on it. Either way it should help matters.

This is the mag release I really liked. but its out of production. So i kinda went to this design.

HAHA! busted! that is where i got the idea and what this release started out life as! after some hand tool work and some modification it works great. That is why custom is used loosely since I didn't actually fabricate it out of steel.

You totally could. Its reversible and the section that attaches to the gun is coated in rubber for positive traction. debating if I should checker it also...

I grip the mag and use my thumb so I decided on the left side.

So it really is a hammer extension? Might have to "borrow" your idea lol.

If you want I can send you the details in a PM.
