bsa reddot quality

how are bsa reddot sights? do you have to have the dot in the center of the sight to hit where you want to? is it tough? does it suck is it quality? thank you in advance it will be on a 9mm hipoint carbine.

I have a BSA on a .22 pistol. This thing is way too much fun!

I haven't had any problems with the sight at all. No, you don't need to have the dot in the center of the tube. It's a 1X (zero) magnification. Eye relief is immaterial. Just put the dot on the target, wherever the dot may be in the tube, and fire. In actual practice, you will find that if the angle is off by much the dot will disappear. This will be less of an issue with a rifle. You adjust the point of impact just like any other scope. I would have reservations about having one on anything that had much recoil, but it should be fine on a 9mm carbine.

The BSA red dot is OK and has horizontal and vertical adjustments for the dot. The dot doesn't have to be in the center, once adjusted. As I said, it's OK for the money.
What it isn't is "sealed". It's not advertised as being "water resistant" and will fog-up. If you foresee fogging as a problem, don't buy this scope. Otherwise, you can get one for ~$40, delivered, vs. ~$400, for something like an Aimpoint.

sweet. that rubs me the right way cause i bought it as an impulse buy at a gunshow thinking it would unbelievably fun on a 9mm carbine. now judging from what you guys say i think i was right. by the way if you live in mi you can get em at almost every occurance of the birch run gun and knife show for 29 dollars. i said i only had 27 cause i was almost broke and needed to be able to quench my thirst and get gas on the way home.

I had a BSA red dot on my Marlin Camp .45. It was a POS that died after 110 rounds. It might be ok on .22 but I wouldn't put it on anything larger.
