Unissued M1 Carbine Mags

I just bought a few unissued M1 carbine mags from Midway still in original wrapping for $25 each. Thought some of you might be interested.

Edited to remove link. See below message by Willie Lowman. Sorry for the error. I didn’t realize I had posted any link.

WWII unissued? You'd think they would have unwrapped at least ONE of them just to be certain what they were, and what condition they were in.
And, possibly who made them...

They should be fine, protected, considering the apparent good condition of the original wrap being intact, but...they admit they don't know.

The backstory in the link, that they are WWII mags never issues and stored in Italy since the 50s could certainly be possible.

If they were found still in factory shipping cases/crates then likely such info would be on the box/case/crate, though possibly in obscure bureaucratese.

Am not an expert, either, but look where the wear is. Places where it could basically have been rubbed while still in the paper wrap.

Remember that while "unissued" these mags are nearly 80 years old, and who knows what kind of things happened during all that time?? Note that the pics of the packaging do not show pristine packaging, either.

It would appear strange the wear is only on the top part ? If someone had pics of what they actually received would be more indicative, but this pic looks like the mag was used for a good while. As you said who knows given the age.
