I would say most everyone sells it by the count, not by the pound.

Different stages of used brass will affect the selling price.
Some folks sell it just picked up and bagged.
Some folks separate the nickel from the brass cases.
Some folks separate head stamps so it's all the same.
Some folks run it through the tumbler and clean it.
Some folks size/deprime it.

After that, 9mm is usually the cheapest, then .40 S&W is a little higher, then probably .45, then likely .380.

I've seen some 9mm as cheap as $30 for 500 rounds. It goes up from there.

I pick up pounds of free brass off an indoor range - in all the common calibers for semi-autos.

There isn't any market in my area for brass - unless you clean, resize and deprime it .....and then its marginal at best.

I'll come get all the .45 they have

what area are you in? I'll come there and take all the .45 they got.

i clean my brass before I sell it- and since most progressive units de-primes/ primes in one step its not worth the extra work.

let me know and i'll come get all I can get.

thanks

Scott

I just sold 500 rounds of .380 acp for $25. (.05/case)
I also sold 500 rounds of .357 Sig for the same price.
Sold 3000 rounds of .40 S&W for $100 (.03333/case).

I have bought 38, 357, 9mm and 45acp for anywhere from .01/case (9mm, about two years ago) to .05/case (.357 and 45 acp).

Another place to look

Go to www.gunsonthenet.com and type in the search box "once fired" followed by a 40, 357, or whatever caliber you are looking for. That is where I got 2000 pieces of 40 brass for just over 60 bucks. The going rate seems to be closer to 40 per 1000, on the average, though. At those prices, I don't chase em around, I leave em at the range for the next guy to pick up.
