an optic for "tactical" m1 carbine?

I have an Kahr/Auto Ordnance m1 carbine with a plastic, folding stock. It has non-adjustable iron sights. I'm planning on taking off the rear sight and putting a weaver scope mount on it. I've got a bushnell elite 3200 scope I could get on there, but I was thinking along the lines of a red dot of some sort. This is a 100 yard rifle at most.

This is the mount I have.

Any recommendations?
