Cleaning

I'm new to the gun world sorta , just turned 18 and wanna get into the firearm world. I have a Ruger 10/22 and a H&R 20 Gauge single action. I have yet to clean them yet as I haven't done any shooting yet. Is there a universal lube I guess you'd call it ? Like Barrel Grease or? I'm new so if anyone could inquire some help it'd be really helpful! Thanks!

You can find lots of videos on youtube that show how to clean specific weapons. Just search for 'cleaning 10-22' or whatever kind of gun you have.

+1 to the above you being 18 should be pretty familiar with YouTube, but the "universal lube" equivalent in my book is remoil http://www.remington.com/products/ac...s/rem-oil.aspx I use it because it's probably the most common gun oil out, I've yet to see a Walmart shelf without it.

CLPs, Gunvideo.com, NRA, Paladin-Press.com....

If you are new to the shooting sports & gun ownership, I suggest these resources; www.gunvideo.com www.NRA.org www.Paladin-press.com www.boatmanbooks.com www.Brownells.com .
Every US firearm owner or "armed professional" should have a recent Brownells catalog or use the site.
the NRA is a good way to learn about safe gun use & understand the legal issues related to 2A/carry-ownership.
For CLPs(clean lube protect) products, I'd buy some Mpro7/LPX, Gunzilla, Weaponshield or Ballistol.
Be safe, learn the laws/use of force SOPs & clean-check your firearms often.
