IDPA Bellybutton Holster Survey

There is a member survey on IDPA.com as to whether the currently fashionable AIWB holster should be allowed in competition.

If you are not a member, write in and say you will join if they let you wear your stylish holster.

that puts the draw parallel to the firing line.

Negative vote from me.

I have put this notification up on several gun boards.
I happen to agree with you based on my limited sights of AIWB wearers in action.
But the usual response is "USPSA has been doing it forever" and "IDPA is so lame nothing will help it."

I didn't like cross draw holsters in CAS, either.

Really struggled with this one because shooters should be trusted by other shooters generally,BUT, I think it puts the SOs in a tough spot having to judge 180 violations and whether the shooter muzzled their own feet on the draw(a 100% DQ). Voted no figuring shooters can practice AIWB draws on their own time,as I do.

My comment was to have a special AIWB start position, 45 degrees to the strong side of the line of fire. After all, PCC shooters always start facing the targets no matter where we pistol shooters start, so why not make another special provision.

That is a reasonable and workable solution.

The cynical part of me says that will make sure it never sees the light of day.

If your IDPA membership is active, please vote. It is vital as many members as possible are heard.
