Bud's Layaway question
I have always heard that Bud's Gunshop does drop shipping. Last week I put a Glock 19 G4 and an SKS on layaway (a bit of panic buying I must admit) At the time they were both in stock, of course. Now they are not. I paid by CC so my payment would post immediately to "hold" my gun
If Buds does drop shipping, I assume they do not have a SKS and Glock in the back with my name on it. With these models becoming a little scarce right now how does my "reserved" gun work? Is it actually held with Buds or a distributor, or are they hedging their bets that they will be in stock when I pay the off?

Good question, and I hadn't even thought about that. I'm thinking about putting a gun or two on layaway with Bud's as well and the answer you get will possibly effect my choice. I'm looking forward to see your answers. If no one on the forum knows the answer and you end up calling Bud's for answers, please post back with what you find out.

I recently put a pistol on layaway (sig220) and after it was out of stock I paid it off. It has since gone to shipping. I haven't been contacted to be told it wasn't available so I assume it'll be shipped some time this week. But when it ships ill message back here.

Once you put 20% down at Bud's, they are supposed to pull the item out of inventory and hold it for you.

Thanks guys, I will call them after the holidays. The thought popped in my head last night (and of course they are closed for the next 2 days) and I wanted to see what others said about it.
I will call them tomorrow and report back

Last year I decided to drive to Bud's to pick up my layaway items. Both items came out to the counter with hold tags on them and my name on the tags.

Yes as stated above I have read Bud's policy on layaway and as soon as they get your down payment and the item is still in stock at that time they pull and hold it.
If you had mailed in a check or money order and the items went out of stock while you "Check was in the mail" you would be out of luck until the items returned to stock.

I do not like to pay the 3% CC fee, but I am willing to pay it on the fist 20% so it will clear right then

Buds has always shipped quickly. I have ordered 2 guns now since the panic and it takes me about 3 weeks to receive them at my FFL. Now I"ve noticed their stock is so depleted, for example they don't even have any Ruger double action revolvers or smiths. certainly these are not panic items!
