Hello all,

This question has probably been asked before, but here goes - Where on the net is a good place to buy scopes? Someplace with a good combination of price and service. Any help will be appreciated by this rookie.

TIA,

Greg

I'll second going with SWFA. I got 2 Leupold Vari-x IIILR scopes from them and they were great folks to deal with. Lot better deal paying about $700 to SWFA than $1250 to my local "gun store profiteer"!

What's SWFA?

Check out
http://natchezss.com

They seem to have a pretty good price on the Leupold Vari-X II 3-9x40
Something like $220? Cheapest place I've seen. Or you can try to get lucky on eBay.

Check out what's available from Bear Basin right now from Leupold in their Long Range line:

Quote from Bear Basin web site:

All Target Models Include Target Knobs and A Free Sun Shade

Leupold Long Range Target

Leupold offers an excellent line of long range scopes with 30mm main tubes, 50mm objectives for exceptional light transmission and side focus (or parallax) adjustments, rather than the traditional adjustable objective. The long range models also have target knobs! Leupold also offers several long range models including two silver models in 4.5-14X 50mm and 6.5-20X 50mm and a matte (only) 6.5-20X 50mm model with a mil dot reticle!

SWFA gave me a better price on a Leupold 4.5-14x40AO Tactical than Bear Basin are currently advertising on their web site. When you consider the latter's free shipping and current additional $10 off Leupold scopes over $400 it's real close, athough SWFA still wins.
