Is it true Glock's in 45 cal unsafe with +P ammo?

Gunny67's post got me worried, seems some departments did have G21 models fail on the range, I'm dying to know what rounds those were that caused the malfunction, or maybe it was a mechanical failure. I read in other places about this. Maybe unclean guns, bad batch of ammo, or mechanical problems. Has anyone ran into any problems with +P rated ammo on their Glock 21, 30, ect? Let a urban ninja know...

Read the thread. It contains links that tell what ammunition was being used and also reports from an independent laboratory that stated the cause for the incidents.

There is nothing in any of the reports that suggests that +P ammunition contributed to the incidents in question nor have I read anything from a reliable source that suggests the G21 is unsafe with +P ammunition.

Thanks man, i went from panic.. to thinking that report was bogus. I was seriously staring at my G21 like "you bastard..." But it's true, if all G-21's were unsafe, they would blow up everytime! Cause i shot tons of reload ammo with no explosions... the myth has been crushed!

Worried about Glocks? OK, what other defensive handgun platform (especially other tupperware) makes (A.) a 10mm? (B.) a fully automatic variant? I don't lose much sleep over thoughts of my Glocks' vulnerabilities.

When I bought my first Glock, a G21, many moons ago, I took it by Glock/Smyrna to have some Trijcons installed. Asked the tech about shooting +p and he told me that was all the shot through his G21 and that shooting +p in any Glock was fine.

I'm going to sleep better. Nothing better than a 45 acp round moving a 950 fps out the muzzle.... i though chamber pressures in the 45 acp round were relatively low compared to a 9mm and a 40cal... anyone know more about this?

9mm and 40 S&W are the same at SAAMI max pressures of 35,000 and the old 45ACP is only 21,000 max.

It's a Glock.

I sold my Glock 21 a few weeks ago, but that was out of desperation, due to this economy.

ANY pistol I'll EVER own again WILL be a Glock. Hands Down.
