Browning BAR ID?

Hi Folks!

I'm trying to identify when a Browning BAR -- serial number 68xxx M9 -- was made. It's a Belgian made gun, and I'm guessing the final "9" indicates 1969, but I'm not sure. Any thoughts?

Also, it's chambered in 7mm Remington Magnum. Would that be considered a long or short action? Long, I'm guessing.

Thanks!
Dave

M9? M69?

M69 is 1969.

Yup, "M9"

I've seen some inconsistencies in Belgian Browning serial numbering before, for example, on an Auto 22.
