Arg. 09 ejector spring

So my litte mauser ejector blade quit kicking the brass out. I got it home, removed the ejector box and pulled the ejector blade out. It's intact and not damaged. Next I looked at the spring, it's laying flat and apparently broken, but I can't see how it comes out. I tried to drag it out with a pick, nothing doing. It seems like it should be very basic, can someone tell me the trick?

You drive it out from the rear towards the front of the bolt stop. Any Mauser 98 ejector spring should fit, although there are minor variations in length between the military and commercial ones.
