Rem 870 to Clip Feed

Hello;

Has anyone here converted a Remington 12 ga model 870 to a clip feed ?

Rather that re-invent the wheel, would you share whot you found and did to make the clip conversion.

Why are there no clip feed pump shotguns available on the market ?

Thanks
Paul

Sounds like a lot of work to do that conversion. However, there is a Russian (IZH I think) that markets a mag fed semi-auto. The action looks kind of like an AK style. I found it interesting because you could keep magazines with different loads in them for different situations.

Mike;
Where have you seen the Russian Semi Auto Clip Fed Shotgun advertised.
Do you remember the price.

Thanks

don't recall the price, looked good, but heard it had reliability problems. That's second hand.

PRice "MIGHT" have been around $750. I could be wrong.

I guess never say never, but I think it would be close to impossible to convert the 870 to a clip feed. At least it would cost as much as the 870. I think it would require removal of a lot of metal inside the receiver, plus reworking of the trigger group. And that assumes that you could find suitable magazines. I would assume that the normal 2-3 round magazines would not do, or you would be content with the tube. I don't know off hand of any 10 round or more shotgun mags that could be adapted.

Its not impossible to convert the 870. There is a drum magazine and or box magazine available for Mossbergs and soon to be available for Rem 870s from Knoxx Industries.

There are no clip fed shotguns. However there are a few magazine fed pump/auto shotguns.

There are the IZH series of box magazine fed shotguns, which I believe are now discontinued, but available. IZH MP-131K and IZH-81. Prices are usually $275 to $400.

There is also the Valtro box magazine fed pump guns, which run around $325-450.

The SAS semi-automatic box fed shotguns are usually $225.

Centerfire systems has similar Chinese box-fed semi-autos with ghost ring sights for around $299.

Don't forget the SAIGA AK 12,20, and .410 ga semi-auto shotguns with box mags. $179 to $299
