Bushnell Elite Tactical
I'm thinking about putting a Bushnell 4200 Elite Tactical on my 300 Win Mag. The only problem is I have heard there isn't much room for adjustment on these. Can anyone clarify this for me? Thanks.

And I sure can't seem to find any canted rings for my Ruger M77. Any help as far as that goes would be great too.

I have one and have heard the same thing. I guess they aren't 1000yd scopes but should be good to go with a 308 out to at least 600 yards with a 20MOA base. A bit further with 300WM. FWIW the optics are excellent.

The Elite 4200's don't have as much adjustment as the Elite 3200 10x40.
But you have a 300 Win Mag. As long as you can free up 35 MOA of UP you should be able to make it to 1k with a 190gr SMK at 2900 fps. Milspec A191 is loaded to about 2950 fps. This scope is expensive, but it has the internal adjustment to get you out to 1k. http://www.swfa.com/pc-10161-292-ior...fle-scope.aspx No need for canted base or rings. Burris Signature rings have available inserts for Ruger 77's. http://www.midwayusa.com/midwayusa/s...uide/ruger.htm Jimro

You can also look at the new 6500 tactical scope I believe it has 78 inches of adjustment at 100 yards. As someone pointed out above the 3200 tactical has 100 inches while the 4200 tactical has only 50 inches @ 100 yards.
If you are looking for a scope you can shoot 100-1000+ yards then the 4200 is probably not the scope for you. It may or may not work with a canted base. You may end up being able to shoot out past 1000 yards but then not at 100 yards. You are best going with a scope with enough internal adjustment like a Leupold mk4, Sightron SIII, IOR etc. For a budget scope check out the Super Sniper it has 120 MOA I believe but is fixed power.
