Who has recently owned a lower-priced G-3? Reloaded?

Have just read about the violent extraction process, which chews up lots of US civilian-made brass, or does this not happen often enough to require tougher military brass?

Have no idea what such retail mil.-source ammo costs, if suitable.

Can some readily available type of .308 (using cheap bullets for plinking at bricks etc) be reloaded on simple equipment for about $.30/round, which is suitable for the common CETME G-3?

Mods-my mistake: should this be switched to the generic "Rifle Forum"?
