R.I M200
My buddy showed me his Rock Island M200. He had purchased it last May from Rural King for $220. This feels like a cross of the D frame Colt and the K frame Smith. It actually feels very good in the hand with it's plastic grips.
I checked the trigger and found it very nice. Good DA pull and a SA break that was crisp. I asked him if he did a trigger job on it. He said all he did was flush out the factory oil and grease it with Mobil 1 full synthetic bearing grease. He said he had about 300 rounds through it but he keeps it on his computer desk with snap caps in it. He said there's a small spot on the wall he dry fires at in both DA and SA modes. He tells me it is pretty accurate. I wanted a 4" 38 just to plink with 148 grain BB wadcutters. I looked for a S+W 10 or 64, police buy backs. It seems if you see them on a dealer shelf they are a bit pricey. From what I've seen people order on line it really seems like pot luck. So I'm thinking for a bit over $200 this might not be a bad call., |

I had the snubbie model ... I ran just short of 500 rds thru it ... I had no complaints.. I had ever intention of getting a four inch model .. But never got around to it ... Mine had a surprising good trigger .. Your description of the size is right on .. It sets perfectly in between a D & K size frame ... I found my M206 to shoot POA with 148gr LWC and 158gr LRN ..

Thought about the M200 at one point. Decided a .357 with a 4 inch barrel is a better option, got a used gen 1 Charter Arms with adjustable sights for $250. Been happy with it, even though it's a 5 round, not a 6.
Got the snub Rock Island instead. Weight tames the recoil well.

There is absolutely no SD factor here or combat shooting. One round at a time slow fire in SA mode. Just chillin'
I did note that the barrel wasn't crowned. I have a 38 pilot coming so I'll put an 11 degree on his then mine when I get it. |

Been looking at the 2" model. I already have a 4" HB S& W Model 10 that I bought new about 40 years ago. Looks like the day I bought it. I also have a Ruger GP 100 6", a 2" Windicator, and an LCP for pocket carry. Want the RI snubbie just ' cause. Not sure I would bother with the crown work if the gun is already shooting accuratly. My Windicator with the infamous "sawed off" barrel does fine without any crown work.

Contact them. If they see enough interest, maybe they'll do it. |

Bought the Armscore (RIA) 206 yesterday. I haven't even cleaned all the factory goo off yet. Other plans prevail. But I didplay with it a bit, goo and all. The double action trigger is surprisingly good with just a bit og grittyness that I'm sure will smooth out with use. I didn't experience any hammer bite as I have heard mentioned with the small wood grips. The single action trigger pull rivels that of my very light and crisp 70's era S&W Model 10-5.
Very pleased so far. Hope to squeeze in some range time soon. Armedandfree, the muzzle on mine is crowned.
